Freedom Through The Repertoire Workshop

Dates: 17th October 2026

Location: The Studio Space, Unit 9, 2 Television Centre, 101 Wood Lane, W12 7FR

Timings: 9am - 4pm

Have you ever felt like you need to constantly create something new to keep your classes interesting?

A new exercise.

A new sequence.

A new idea.

But at the same time…

You want to teach real Pilates.

You want to stay connected to the method?

The answer isn’t to move further away from the repertoire.

It’s to understand it more deeply.

Because the original works are your roadmap.

This day is for you if…

You want to deepen your understanding of the original mat repertoire

You sometimes feel unsure about adapting exercises without moving away from the method

You want to confidently teach mixed-ability rooms while staying connected to the intention of the work

You want to create more intelligent, purposeful class plans rather than relying on sequences you have memorised

You feel inspired by classical Pilates but want to understand how to interpret it for the bodies in front of you

This day is to help you unlock the creativity that already exists within the work.

To understand the purpose.

The intention.

The connections.

So you can make confident decisions and create classes that feel fresh, purposeful and true to the method.

What to expect on the day

9:00am | Welcome & Move
Experience the original mat repertoire as a complete system, moving through the original sequence together to feel the method as Joseph Pilates intended.

10:15am | Understanding the Repertoire
Explore the purpose, intention and connections within the foundational exercises, discovering how they create the blueprint for the entire mat repertoire.

12:30pm | Lunch

1:30pm | Creativity Through the Repertoire
Move through a second class inspired by the original repertoire and experience how a deep understanding of the method creates freedom, creativity and confidence in your teaching.

2:30pm | Workshop & Discussion
Explore sequencing, preparation work, progressions, regressions and adaptations, with plenty of opportunities for questions, discussion and practical application throughout.

4:00pm | Home with a Fresh Perspective
Leave with a deeper understanding of the repertoire and the confidence to create purposeful, inspiring classes whilst maintaining the integrity of the method.

P.S I will be organising a drink afterwards nearby for anyone who would like to join for more of an informal catch up x

My Journey Into the Original Works

My own understanding of the Pilates method has been shaped through lineage-based training with Jo at JPilates, where I was given the tools to explore the roots of Joseph Pilates' work with curiosity, depth and respect.

That training changed the way I looked at the repertoire. Instead of simply learning the exercises, I began studying the method as a complete system… exploring the purpose behind the movements, the connections between them and the intelligence that underpins the work.

It also sparked a real thirst for knowledge.

Alongside my training with Jo, I've continued to study the teachings of the first generation Pilates teachers and those who learnt directly from Joseph Pilates, always curious to understand the different perspectives that have shaped the method we teach today.

Each has offered another layer of insight, continually deepening my own understanding of the repertoire.

What I've discovered is that the original works are not something to be copied without question, or something we need to move away from in search of creativity.

They are the foundation.

The more deeply we understand the work, the more freedom we have to teach it.

Through years of study, I've developed an approach that helps teachers interpret the repertoire with confidence, understand the intention behind the movements and use that understanding to create meaningful experiences for every body in front of them.

Because no two bodies are the same.

The skill of a Pilates teacher isn't simply knowing the exercises… it's understanding the work deeply enough to know how to share it with every person who walks into your room.

This workshop is an opportunity to share that understanding with you, helping you build confidence, clarity and creativity whilst staying connected to the roots of the method.
