Welcome to Built on the Mat

Over the next four weeks, we’ll move through the mat work in a clear, progressive way so you can actually feel how Pilates builds in your body… from foundational work, through to intermediate and advanced repertoire, finishing with a week using props to deepen your practice.

Each week includes:

  • 2 pre-recorded classes you can complete anytime

  • 1 live class every Friday morning (also recorded if you can’t make it live)

You’ll find everything organised week by week inside this section, so you can simply follow the structure without overthinking what to do next.

The intention of this challenge is simple: to bring clarity back to your practice. To help you understand what you’re working, why it matters, and how each exercise connects within the method.

Take your time with it. Repeat sessions if you need to. And let your understanding build week by week.

We’re really glad you’re here.

Book your live practice

each week there are two pre-recorded sessions which you will find below. Every third session of the week is live on Zoom (and recorded for those who can’t make it).

Practice 1: 30 Minute Foundations of Matwork.

This session sets the tone for the rest of our work over 4th next 4 weeks. If we can get super strong at the foundations, the rest of the work will make so much more sense. Don't think foundation means easy, the inserts s strong, its the skill that is the building blocks x

  • Practice 2: 32 Minute Foundational Mat Work

Practice 2: 32 Minute Foundational Mat Work

I am calling these sessions foundational because this isn't easy 'beginner' work, it's us building the foundations of our mat work that builds the blocks for our future, more complex stuff. Enjoy x

Practice 3: 25 Minute Foundational Classical Order

My one job was to deliver the classical order and i messed it up! Rolling comes after one leg circles not before. Despite that, I hope you enjoyed the sequence and it gave you some thoughts on how to improve your practice of these foundational exercises x

  • Practice 4: 32 Minute Intermediate Work

Practice 4: 32 Minute Intermediate Work

This session includes some new movement that we haven't explored yet, but also you can hopefully see how the foundational work we have completed really sets us up for these slightly more difficult movements. Keep in mind, this is all practice. I am not expecting all of this to be achievable right from the start - keep showing up, it will all start to click x

  • Practice 5: 26 Minute Intermediate Mat
    • 29/04/2026

Practice 5: 26 Minute Intermediate Mat

We start to move quicker through the familiar work and dive a little deeper into the intermediate repertoire. This is helping us put together the work that makes up the full classical intermediate sequence that will be in order in our next session together x

  • Practice 6: 33 Minute intermediate Mat
    • 01/05/2026

Practice 6: 33 Minute intermediate Mat

We put it all together with the classical order for intermediate level. I will teach the full versions of these exercises, so keep in mind the work we've done before this point and take any modifications you need - it's challenging stuff! x

  • Practice 7: 30 Minute Advanced Work
    • 04/05/2026

Practice 7: 30 Minute Advanced Work

First things first... you need your roll over to be comfortable before you move into this space! If it's not there yet, keep practicing and then when that's ready, you can start this session.... lots of new movement in this session that absolutely will feel like a challenge - all of this is practice! x

  • practice 8: 32 Minute Advanced Matwork
    • 07/05/2026

practice 8: 32 Minute Advanced Matwork

Another practice of the advanced repertoire - by this point, we are likely to be eating really familiar with shapes and each time we show up, we are practicing more skill, more control, more understanding of the work. I really hope you enjoy this session x

  • Practice 9: 45 Minute Advanced Classical Order
    • 08/05/2026

Practice 9: 45 Minute Advanced Classical Order

Join me in this Challenge please! I always feel like the classical advanced order starts very familiar and then we get into a few sticky exercises and transitions so it's aways great to dive in and give it a go! Do what you can, take breaks when you need to and just try and stay as present as possible x

  • Practice 10: 31 Minute Magic Circle Class
    • 10/05/2026

Practice 10: 31 Minute Magic Circle Class

This session really hits all the spots! the. circle keeps our limbs in the right place, it gives the body a bit of much needed feedback and it makes us work that little bit harder. I loved every second of this because it tested everything! enjoy x

  • Practice 11: 30 Minute Band + Ball Advanced Practice
    • 13/05/2026

Practice 11: 30 Minute Band + Ball Advanced Practice

Oh I really loved this session! Using props to give the body feedback makes it work harder in some cases and feel more supported in other cases which is why they are so powerful. Its not just there for burn or to squeeze, they can be used really intelligently which I hope you experience in this practice x

  • Practice 12: 40 Minute Intentional Props
    • 17/05/2026

Practice 12: 40 Minute Intentional Props

Here we use the circle, then mini ball then band for a full body, totally method practice, pricing everything together. The equipment is here for feedback, sometime to make the body work harder and other times for support. x
