Welcome to Built on the Mat

Over the next four weeks, we’ll move through the mat work in a clear, progressive way so you can actually feel how Pilates builds in your body… from foundational work, through to intermediate and advanced repertoire, finishing with a week using props to deepen your practice.

Each week includes:

  • 2 pre-recorded classes you can complete anytime

  • 1 live class every Friday morning (also recorded if you can’t make it live)

You’ll find everything organised week by week inside this section, so you can simply follow the structure without overthinking what to do next.

The intention of this challenge is simple: to bring clarity back to your practice. To help you understand what you’re working, why it matters, and how each exercise connects within the method.

Take your time with it. Repeat sessions if you need to. And let your understanding build week by week.

We’re really glad you’re here.

each week there are two pre-recorded sessions which you will find below. Every third session of the week is live on Zoom (and recorded for those who can’t make it).

Practice 1: 30 Minute Foundations of Matwork.

This session sets the tone for the rest of our work over 4th next 4 weeks. If we can get super strong at the foundations, the rest of the work will make so much more sense. Don't think foundation means easy, the inserts s strong, its the skill that is the building blocks x

Practice 3: 25 Minute Foundational Classical Order

My one job was to deliver the classical order and i messed it up! Rolling comes after one leg circles not before. Despite that, I hope you enjoyed the sequence and it gave you some thoughts on how to improve your practice of these foundational exercises x
